Dynamics 365 Business Central supports local requirements (tax, legal, and reporting) as well as business practices in many countries. In the online version, ready-to-use localizations are available as extensions published on Microsoft AppSource. Localizations are also available for on-premises environments – developed either by Microsoft or by partners – while the global partner network ensures implementation and support in each specific country.

    At the operational level, Dynamics 365 Business Central supports multiple languages and currencies. You can work in your preferred UI language and keep your documents and financial data in different currencies. In addition to the local currency, it provides mechanisms for an additional reporting currency, configuration of currency codes and exchange rates, as well as procedures for automatic updates and exchange of currency differences – ensuring that financial statements remain consistent and compliant with applicable rates.

    Data exchange between headquarters and branches can take place via API interfaces as well as traditional XML ports. APIs provide ready-to-use, versioned resources and support webhooks, while custom endpoints can be created in AL if required. XML ports and Data Exchange Framework enable the import and export of documents and files (e.g., banking data, e-invoices) and can also serve as an integration layer between different systems. In more complex integration scenarios, Business Central works seamlessly with EDI solutions, including those based on BizTalk Server.

    For users working across multiple companies, the Company Hub provides a central view that allows quick switching between entities to review key KPIs and immediately access tasks requiring attention. The extension can be added to the environment and configured with the necessary companies (including those from other tenants, if access has been granted). This makes it easier for accountants and controllers to manage operations in distributed organizations without the need to log into each company separately.
